But it is not just us who are lucky; the truest lucky people are our guests who get the best. Our clients are typically the ones who deserve the best. I want to go though some pictures with you, and when we are done, you will know more than most dentists do about creating great smiles. We think this is important, because we all know someone who got messed up and the results were less than great, especially to our trained eyes, we see it all the time and our hearts go out to them. Actually our next agenda is to begin lecturing locally so dentists can begin working toward doing the right thing for our community, because we see it to much and we can not see all the people. I'm going to go through some pictures and point out some of the keenest details that make smiles unique and the things we strive to do, then I am going to go through a patient and show you how we do it.
We get so frustrated when dental offices change their names to cosmetic this or that, and we know they have no education outside of a 4 hour lecture on the subject or dental school. We see the stuff they turn out and it is bad for the profession. I can not do an endo past here and I don't like extractions, and I sure as hell don't advertise it. Dentists are getting into cosmetics because it is where they think the money it, but to do it right you need to really invest in yourself by taking CE. Colleen and I stand out because of our passion for it, that we never let up on improving it, and that we are truly artists as much as dentists. What's his face down the road does cerinates and sends his veneers to a local lab. He has never been to a real course on veneers. A patient called us and asked us if we did cerinates, how much they where, because what's his face does them and his cases looked really good. Guess what? Cerinates sends you a before and after book, their not even his cases and she is so uneducated she thinks they look good and the dentists and his staff don't know any better and they sell them. This is bad for the profession.
There are not that many AACD dentists in NE Florida. Dr. Carol is a member of the PPAD. Don't you think a dentist who is passionate about cosmetics would be a member of the AACD? Beware of the dentists who join, in PV who are members, but have never attended a single lecture by the organization. They are equally uneducated. So where do we get educated? I'll tell you so you know what to look for from a dentist and your patients know too. Hands on courses with the masters. Sustaining or accredited members of the AACD go to courses and are tested in their knowledge. These are the best courses. LVI is different because of the philosophy and they use MAC and MAC veneers are cookie cutters I'll show you what I mean. It's not bad to be consistent. Who do you want to do your RCT. Me who had done some and feels pretty good about it, or DR. Mavec, who has a microscope went to endo school, and writes papers on the subject and does them all day? Easy answer. How about perio surgery. I know how to lay a flap and clean teeth. Can I do it as well as Dr. Carol who does it everyday and has special training. NO. It might turn out OK, but who would you trust more? Dr. Carol. What about veneers? We have special training and are passionate about it. We lecture and write about it. We are active in the AACD and have passed extra testing to do it. Or, a dentists who does it every now and then and really doesn't think about it very much besides when he does it? I would rather go to us. I know you would. Our goal is really to educate the public in doing so we hope to raise the standards of care for cosmetic dentistry. If the public demands more from the dentists, they will either be passionate about it and do what it takes to learn more, or they will just refer it to dentists like us who are passionate and care. It needs to stop being about the money and start being about the love of the art.
