These are some of the questions you need to consider. What are your long term plans and hopes for your teeth and smile? Just taking care of your teeth doesn't necessarily equate to having a beautiful smile. It is possible to have both a healthy and gorgeous smile. It's up to you what you want for your mouth. Is there a certain celebrity or movie star whose smile you admire? What is it that draws you to it? It's nice to know what you consider a nice smile, some of those same characteristics can be incorporated into your new smile design. What is you'd like to change or improve about your smile? And lastly, what is your budget? A new smile can cost as much as a ca, how would you normally pay for. a purchase like this? Would you finance into more manageable payments?
Ultimately, you need to know, what your goals are for you smile and what your budget is. Often, you can whiten your teeth for the price of a new outfit. You may wear that outfit a few times, but you'll wear your new smile everyday. Same goes for a car. You do drive it from pint A to point B, some people may notice your car, but when you get out of the car, it's your smile that everyone will see for the rest of the day.
Your consultation is your chance to discuss your goals with the doctors and see what is possible. You should ask as any questions as you need to. We will be happy to take as much time as you need. We can show you as much or as little as you'd like. We have many procedural pictures showing the process of a smile makeover. Some people like to see everything, some don't. It's up to you. Make sure you get as much out of the consult as you can. If you find you have more questions afterwards, or perhaps a spouse or friend raised some concerns, no problem. Just give us a call or drop us an e-mail. Our main goal is to help you make an informed decision. Sometimes a second consult is needed. Again, no problem.
Our studio is best known for its porcelain veneers. We focus on the artistic creation of natural looking and feeling veneers. We put the extra effort into the tiniest details that when combined make the difference between fake looking teeth and a naturally beautiful smile with some extra added flare. We call these types of smile enhancements Olitsky Veneers after The Smile Stylist, Dr. Jason Olitsky.
Veneers are ultra-thin, custom made porcelain pieces that are permanently bonded directly to the teeth. They have become increasingly popular and are a great durable option for changing the size, shape, position, and color of teeth. Veneers are used to close gaps, straighten teeth, replace worn edges, or resurface discolored teeth. The best candidates for veneers are people whose teeth are healthy and free from periodontal disease. However, cavities can often be repaired at the time of veneer preparation.
Since graduating from Temple University School of Dentistry, we have traveled across the country where I could learn directly under the innovators of cosmetic dentistry. From these elite we continue to learn and cultivate our own unique techniques and artistic principles to deliver new smiles with veneers that look natural with my added flare. Dr. Jason has also become one of the instructors with The Hornbrook Group, a live patient, hands-on cosmetic course that teaches other dentists the contemporary techniques of veneers.
Our best contribution to date is the ability to create the market driven whiter smiles using veneers that can still maintain a natural appearance.
A veneer covers mainly the visible front part of the tooth and slightly wraps over the biting edge. There does not necessarily have to be a black and white definition of crowns and veneers. Sometimes a veneer will wrap over to the tongue side of a tooth to help the bite and look kind of like a hard taco shell or sometimes a veneer will wrap around the entire tooth like a crown. The point is that end result is not affected by the nomenclature of whether it's a crown or a veneer since to the observer they will look identical to the eye. For example, my wife was born without her laterals. Her new smile consists of bridges, crowns, and veneers, but I bet you cannot tell the difference, the same material is used throughout.
